#CTMeetup 2016
What do you get when you put 55 bloggers into a room? A day of FUN!
I cannot describe the pure joy I felt when an email from Cindy popped up in my inbox a few weeks ago announcing the details of the annual #CTMeetup. I as always immediately responded to say that I was in.
My blogging journey began while I was on maternity leave shortly after Josh was born and has blossomed ever since. Through this world I have met some amazing people and made some dear friends.
Getting back to our event, which was hosted by our beautiful veteran blogger Cindy from 3 Kids, 2 Dogs and 1 Old House. Talk about raising the bar, while Cindy planned and prepped for the #CTMeetup and roped her family into packing SwagBags I was doing my own prepping….
Anyhoo like I was saying… The venue
Bloggers are a strangely unique group of people, they come from many different walks of life with very different interests yet put us at a table together with good food and we click!
The venue for our meetup this year was Eat on Main (for those old Obs frequenters Barmooda) in Observatory. Best way to describe the vibe of this neighborhood would be quirky, artsy and very laid back – I believe Cape Town mag referred to it as the most Bohemian suburb in Cape Town. Massimo and his team definitely delivered on the food. It was good wholesome food which hit all the right spots.
We don’t just sit and eat though, we had 2 speakers for the day, we had Samantha Wright from Tech Girl who gave us some pointers into making the most of our blogging platforms and Ruan Fourie from Gevaaalik who chatted to us about the Do’s and Don’ts of blogging – both also have day jobs at Webfluential.
Note to self:
- Be consistent
- Determine your worth
- Set up a freakin newsletter

This year we had the opportunity to have a few of our sponsors at the event which was great for networking especially the new bloggers, thank you to the Baby Sense team, Bach and Spatone guys who were there to test iron levels.
Special whoop whoop for also winning a Baby Sense hamper at the event, now I just need to convince Hubby we need to try for a little girl.

Hey hey then the gorgeous Mama Jules from Heart Mama Blog who won one of the Love Made Me vouchers for her tiny tribe, I cannot wait for her to place an order!
My absolute highlight aside from spending a lovely day catching up with old faces and meeting new faces was being able to capture memories and print them within seconds and this was thanks to Brandrocket.
This is how it works:
Social Printing – Instagram and Twitter Photo Kiosks
1. SNAP
TAKE YOUR PHOTO USING YOUR MOBILE PHONE
2. HASHTAG
UPLOAD YOUR ON BRAND PHOTO TO INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER
3. SELECT
CHOOSE YOUR PHOTO ON THE TOUCHSCREEN
4. PRINT
PRINT OUT YOUR BRANDED PHOTO
How simple!

All in all it was a fabulous day and I cannot wait till the next #CTMeetup!
Ooh before I forget, this girl knows how to hook us up!
So now you’re probably thinking I’m an ass for rubbing your nose in the awesomeness of our event, sucks being you. Just kidding!
But seriously if you want to get your hands on one of the Swag bags then enter the competition Cindys competition HERE
Anyways that’s all for now!
