Preggy Yoga (the tiny bit I tried)
TweetShortly after I discovered I was pregnant my Doctors advised that I refrain from strenuous physical activity and exercise considering that just 2 months prior I had miscarried and had a D&C. I was just on the right track with eating healthy and had my workout plan sorted and I was hit with this curveball. This however didn’t get me down and instead prompted me to do some research into what I could do at home which was “safe” enough for my growing baby. After all my googleing, twoogling, pinteresting we set off on Saturday morning to buy a fitness ball and a yoga mat. I was beyond excited and…

Nursery Themes 2015
TweetOne of the greatest joys I had when pregnant with Josh was planning the nursery. I never had this luxury or space with Danny, so I was even more determined to have what I wanted for Josh. My requests where simple, I wanted a cot made for him and wanted a chair in the nursery. That’s it. Everything else happened. It was nothing elaborate or over the top, it was plain and simple (very gender neutral) and USERFRIENDLY which was crucial. The space was small and I kept the colours as plain as can be (I love colour but colour also scares me). Looking towards baby 3 (God willing when I’m big…

Planning a baby shower
TweetI was definitely fortunate enough to be blessed with having 3 great baby showers My first with Danny was planned by my best friends (we were as close as Sisters) Crystal and Shafieqa. Due to circumstances I unfortunately had none of my family plan or attend but I did have my amazing support system consisting of close friends, extended family and my awesome colleagues. I remember the day so well. It was a complete surprise to me, I didn’t know anything about it and definitely didn’t expect it. I was overwhelmed with emotions and just felt so special. Through this challenging time the most amazing friendship developed between friends Crystal,…

Preggy Super Foods and Smoothies
TweetI know comparing pregnancies is not ideal, as every one is different but I rather enjoy it. So don’t judge. With Danny I didn’t eat healthy, I quit smoking only during my first trimester and guzzled down litres of gas drinks and my outcome? A perfect healthy baby. Now with Josh I watched what I ate, I tried our best to avoid unhealthy foods, I exercised, I took my prenatal vitamins religiously, did smoothies / jungle juice, fenugreek, drank water, took primrose oil after 36 weeks (read it somewhere), the whole bang tootie. However my outcome remained the same. With Josh however even though it was a second c-sec (not…

Post Partum Meal Planning
TweetIf you’re not lucky enough to have friends or family set up a meal train for you post partum I suggest you plan and make your own. Here’s just a few recipes to get you started. I know I used some of these after Josh’s birth but also when I know its going to be a hectic week or Hubby will be working late I also do these. Its great to book yourself “out” on a Sunday afternoon and cook up a storm for the week that lay ahead. A few key things to remember for the newbie freezers: Most freezer friendly meals last up to 3 months in a…
