My 5min busy Mom makeup routine

In my pre-baby days I definitely had time to enjoy my beauty routine for both day and night time, however fast forward to the present and 2 kids later time is of the essence in our home and with a busy morning routine I needed to make this process as smooth and quick as possible and still manage to walk out of the house looking presentable. So here’s my favourite products and my what I do.

I always start with moisturizer (this can range from an actual moisturizer or rubbing excess cream from my arms and legs to my face – do not judge), my favourite for this when I actually do it right is the African Extracts Rooibos range which I actually discovered through a fellow blogger.

African Extracts Rooibos uses an advanced Bio-Active Rooibos plant extract from fresh, green rooibos plants harvested in the Cederberg mountains of the Western Cape. Used for millennia by South Africa’s first inhabitants, Rooibos is rich in minerals and antioxidants, including aspalathin and nothofagin, which act against free radicals.
Rooibos is known for its anti-inflammatory, skin-soothing and protective properties. All our products also contain other natural plant actives proven for their skin-care benefits – in line with our promise of “skin care inspired by nature”.
African Extracts products are dermatologically tested, paraben free and endorsed by Beauty without Cruelty. www.africanextracts.com

My skin is a bit combinationish (and slightly sensitive) depending on the season, lifestyle and my stress levels so these products do wonders in keeping my oily t-zone under control and perfect for my sensitive skin.

On a good day I’ll use the following products

African Extracts Rooibos Facial Wash – R49.95
African Extracts Rooibos cleansing lotion – R49.95
African Extracts Rooibos Day Cream – R54.95
African Extracts Rooibos Night Cream – R54.95

If you’re not too sure then why not try out their starter pack – R80 (purchased on Spree)
Consists of a Soothing Cleansing lotion, Refreshing Toner, Day and Night Cream
available at pharmacies, Clicks, Dischem and major supermarkets

I’m sure you’ll agree these products are GREAT and super AFFORDABLE

Next is a quick foundation, followed by under eye concealer (you don’t understand how badly I need this step)

A quick swish of blush on each cheek, and a highlight on the tops of my cheek

A lick of mascara and voila

I’ll either pair it with a neutral lip or a lip balm

And that ladies, is all I use every day (except weekends) and works for both office as well as running around doing errands.

Let me know what you think of my first beauty on a budget post and if you like the idea of including Splurge vs. Save.

I love the rooibos range and big plus is that it doesn’t cause my skin to flip out
