Well hello there, it’s 2018 which means a new year with new challenges and new adventures, for us 2017 was BUSY. Working, juggling parenthood, studying and everything else took a chunk out of us. But this year it’s all about the chill.
Towards the end of 2017 I finally qualified as a certified WOMBS Doula which I’m so proud of, but with that comes the question what next. Do I remain working for a company I love or do I explore other options? As much as my heart would love to do this full time my head doesn’t allow it just yet.
This year also means the last year at crèche for Joshy and Danny’s final year in foundation phase which means extra focus and working hard. So big steps.
My aim this year is to get back into the swing of blogging more regularly and becoming more active on my social media platforms (again) as well as start volunteering at Karl Bremer more frequently. Enough about what’s to come.
Lets focus on what has happened. Earlier this week we celebrated Danny’s 9th birthday, which was great. We had a cousin date as all his friend were still on holiday and out of town, nevertheless he had an amazing time which is what counts.
To end of the evening we celebrated with the Grandparents, Uncles, Aunty, Friends who all happened to pop by to wish the birthday boy. House full, hearts full and my special boy smiling from ear to ear.
If you want to understand how fast time actually flies, then have a kid. I sometimes feel like I’ve missed so much of their little lives as time just goes by so fast.
Anyways we decided to end of the school holidays with a little getaway to Betty’s Bay which was exactly what we needed to get our minds ready for the busyness that begins next week with school and work starting again. Wish us luck. All uniforms are ready, stuff labeled, bags packed and ready.
Let 2018 be the year of new discoveries, new ventures, meeting new people, giving back, embracing my inner Doula master and making many more memories with my loved ones!
