My Mommy Must Haves

My first experience to Motherhood wasn’t as easy as this time around.

I was young, immature, in a terrible relationship, had very little support and guidance during my pregnancy and earning below minimum wage.

That didn’t however stop me from providing the best i could yo my little boy and Danny lacked for nothing (i even won a Huggies competition which was nappies for a year). I was truly blessed once he arrived. There was definitely things i looked at and wished i could’ve bought for him but financially it just wasn’t possible.

Fast forward 6 years…

The second time around was much  different. I had a loving and supportive Husband. An amazing family support structure, a good job and all round settled.

This time we were in a position where we could afford the nice to haves and and spoils. So this is just a quick round up of some of my favourite items.

What i found in dealing with cracked or sore nipples from
1. Breastfeeding years ago was a breeze, great milk supply, Danny had a great latch, supply was amazing. Definite walk in the park. This time  though i battled a bit. I had cracked and sore nipple and a baby with a terrible latch. What i found that helped (apart from correcting the latching) was the Medela nipple cream.

2. Healthy teeth and gums start with a great routine and this is what we used through the stages with Josh. Not once did he have smelly baby breath or thrush in his mouth.

3. For on the go feeding i just popped this into my bag and still use it 14mnths later. My essential b.box travel bib.

5. A definite life saver was my JJ Cole (Lite) bundleme which i bought on a special on Kalahari. No need for fussing with lots of blankets and keeps baby snug as a bug during the colder months.

6. After 1 weeks of smelling Joshs bm nappies DH decided we needed a nappy bin. He decided that we need 2. 1 failed us but this little darling could hide every foul smell and its capacity was remarkable. Its the Korbell nappy disposal bin.

7. My trustee Tommee Tippee nappy bags for on the go Moms and Dads is great. Love the brand, love the colours and love the design. Funky fresh and glam.

8. Another item hooked to my nappy bag strap is the Milton on the go steriliser. Super convenient, portable and compact. All the things a Mommy looks for. No need for big bulky items.

9. Aside from my miracle bum cream mixture which i use when Js bum is a bit red, Sudocream is a big favourite. I love the texture, i love the protection it offers his wee bum and love that it moisturises such a delicate area.

10. A very baby friendly and stylish find is the amazing Nesi blankets. I have a little “sweater” and these offer a great alternative to thick ugly scratchy heavy traditional baby blankets and the prints are so great too! I own 3!

11. The toy toggle i discovered while Instagram stalking another Mommy blogger. Its a recent purchase but serves its purpose well!

This is what the website says, “ToyToggle stops toys and bottles from constantly being dropped on the floor. This handy, new product (designed with moms in mind) keeps your child’s toys, bottles, sippy-cups or dummies (and more!) securely attached to their highchair, car seat or pram. They’re kept clean and within easy-reach of your child. And the best part? No more lost toys!

Toy Toggle provides a safe and effective way to keep your baby’s toys close at hand. It’s fully-adjustable to ensure it can attach to any highchair, car seat or pram and will securely hold any toy, sippy cup or snack pot.

12. Having kids means juggling and readjusting all your responsibilities, what made that much EASIER was a gift from my DH. Enter my Boba stretchy wrap. I was able to have my hands to myself and still take care of everything i needed to and not neglect or feel like i was neglecting my baby.

13. During my 30th week i spoilt myself with a preggy massage and the masseuse used the Mama Mio range. I absolutely fell inlove with the scent and feeling which it left on my skin. Following this my DH spoilt me with a whole hamper of Mama Mio products and i still use them.
