Introducing Mattel Mega Bloks, Fisher Price’s first building blocks made from plant-based plastics. This set includes 10 big building blocks made from sugarcane-based polyethylene, a renewable raw material recycled and sustainably-grown materials and comes in 100% recyclable and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified packaging.
Environmental sustainability is key for our future
Lately there has been a strong shift focusing on environmental sustainability more than ever before and it’s great to see one of the leading toy manufacturers stepping up. This is the second product that Mattel has introduced as part of its goal to achieve 100% recycled, recyclable or bio-based plastics materials in both its products and packaging by 2030.
This sets come with blocks in a box and that’s it; no additional packaging. Well done Mattel on cutting out the unnecessary bits.

Keeping it simple is essential, this easy to build 10 piece set is perfect for little ones. Grace has an obsession with her brothers blocks but we’re always weary of the harm small pieces could cause. The advantage of Mega bloks are that they’re big and solid giving me piece of mind that they won’t be a choking hazard and sturdy enough to work on Grace’s fine motor skills.
These bloks are reasonably priced, brightly coloured to encourage creativity and stimulate her imagination, safe for little ones to manage and easy to use for hours of building fun. Ticking all the Mom boxes and making it a great gift idea or a great activity to include in your Christmas eve box!
The new line of Mega Bloks is available in store and online.
