• The what nominations? Liebster…

The what award nomination? Liebster, I don’t understand what this is (first response)…. I then continue and re-read the post, newbie here, never heard of this before. Yippee to us though!!!!! I love the idea so much (plus I’ve just learnt a little more about some fellow Mommy bloggers in Cape Town). So thank you to the lovely Cindy over at “3 Kids, 2 Dogs, 1 Old House” for nominating me (us), I feel like a celebrity-ish (planning my acceptance speech in my head, lol), I’m excited and I don’t even know why, I know it’s a little stupid but hey. There are certain bloggers I admire and really look up to, and…

  • The Importance of reading to my children

As a child one of the best things I looked forward to at night was my Mom reading a bedtime story to me, this is where my love for reading developed (not that I get much chance now to read anything non-kid friendly). When I had Danny I inherited a few books from my own childhood from my Mom but also stocked up on books to read to my precious boy, however he was not interested and the idea slowly died. Now that Danny is older I must say he has been bitten by the reading bug which I LOVE! Event when I’m exhausted after a long day of work,…

  • Preggy Yoga (the tiny bit I tried)

Shortly after I discovered I was pregnant my Doctors advised that I refrain from strenuous physical activity and exercise considering that just 2 months prior I had miscarried and had a D&C. I was just on the right track with eating healthy and had my workout plan sorted and I was hit with this curveball. This however didn’t get me down and instead prompted me to do some research into what I could do at home which was “safe” enough for my growing baby. After all my googleing, twoogling, pinteresting we set off on Saturday morning to buy a fitness ball and a yoga mat. I was beyond excited and…

  • Nursery Themes 2015

One of the greatest joys I had  when pregnant with Josh was planning the nursery. I never had this luxury or space with Danny, so I was even more determined to have what I wanted for Josh. My requests where simple, I wanted a cot made for him and wanted a chair in the nursery. That’s it. Everything else happened. It was nothing elaborate or over the top, it was plain and simple (very gender neutral) and USERFRIENDLY which was crucial. The space was small and I kept the colours as plain as can be (I love colour but colour also scares me). Looking towards baby 3 (God willing when I’m big…

  • Planning a baby shower

I was definitely fortunate enough to be blessed with having 3 great baby showers My first with Danny was planned by my best friends (we were as close as Sisters) Crystal and Shafieqa. Due to circumstances I unfortunately had none of my family plan or attend but I did have my amazing support system consisting of close friends, extended family and my awesome colleagues. I remember the day so well. It was a complete surprise to me, I didn’t know anything about it and definitely didn’t expect it. I was overwhelmed with emotions and just felt so special. Through this challenging time the most amazing friendship developed between friends Crystal,…
