Pregnancy | Series | My favourite… Pregnancy books

TweetWelcome to the “MY FAVOURITE” series. This series may become a weekly thing, monthly or I may just post sporadically as I share some of my favourite’s during this pregnancy. For the first part of this series I thought I’d focus on preparing for this baby. Not necessarily body wise but more knowledge is power wise. When it comes to pregnancy books there are a lot out there, you can easily be overwhelmed when entering a bookstore or going online by what is available. Now considering that this is my 3rd pregnancy I can assure you that I’ve read quite a few books over the last 10 years of this…

  • How becoming a Mother has changed my life

TweetIt all started with a series of bad decisions and a very unhealthy relationship but ended in love, marriage and a new baby in the carriage (well not such a baby anymore). Surviving pregnancy My pregnancy was relatively uncomplicated and easy (well except for developing preeclampsia towards the end of my third trimester and 2 unexpected hospital admissions), I didn’t have many people to share it with as I was still an outcast to my family and suffering the consequences of my actions but I had a handful. This was definitely not the life or pregnancy I had envisioned for myself while growing up and it certainly was not a…

  • Starting new traditions: The Night Before Christmas Box

TweetThe night before Christmas or Christmas eve, whatever you prefer to call it has always been a special one in our family. Growing up my Mom did a movie night, we’d watch Little Woman while wearing our new Christmas PJ’s and eating junk food and chatting about the reason we celebrated Christmas. Over the years this tradition has changed. We no longer live under her roof, have our own families and rather do a Christmas Eve dinner with our extended family. The evening is always filled with amazing food, lots of laughter and listening to Hugo tell the kids the Christmas story and also lots of pictures. It’s a special…

  • Our family shoot

TweetA while back I saw a post on Facebook for a family shoot and realized it had been 2 years since our last shoot and we definitely needed updated pictures for our family photo wall.  I contacted Fiona from Fiona Steyn Photography and booked immediately as her packages are super affordable and I loved how natural her photography style was. Fiona thank you so much for your stunning pics of my family, I absolutely adore them! If you’re thinking of updating your family album then you need to check her out.

  • Home Office Inspiration

TweetLiving in a rental can sometimes be challenging. Your space is not always “your own” meaning painting, drilling, renovation work is not always possible. To me, this has been frustrating. I swear these landlords do the minimum to these units purposefully. Our current challenges are: Lack of packing space, most definitely in our kitchen as well as the kids rooms. Dull white walls Not the most glamorous kitchen counter tops Since launching Love Made Me I’ve definitely found the need to have official office space / work space. At present I do design work either in my bedroom or my make shift office in our garage. This has worked until…
